Minneapolis/St. Paul update

WE’VE MOVED! Democratic Convention Watch is now at http://www.DemocraticConventionWatch.com

Jeremy Hanson, Communications Director for Minneapolis Mayor Rybak, emails to say that the DNC has not made a decision concerning the three potential venues for the 2008 Democratic Convention: Xcel Center, Target Center, and the Metrodome.

I didn’t imply otherwise in my post last week. All I reported was the DNC may be focusing on the Xcel Center among the three venues.

I’ll be hoping that Minnesota gets it…

All of the locations we have to select from would be great.

But Denver I think really does top them all for 2008 IMO.

I agree. Denver is not only the best geographically for the convention, it is also the most appealing. If you want cross over appeal, where better than a liberal city in the heart of a purple state in the middle of a red region? Also: I checked out the scoop on Colorado’s governor’s race: Bill Ritter (D) 44.2%, Bob Beauprez (R) 36%. I’m going for Denver.

Denver hotels aren’t unionized. You think that the SEIU is going to let that happen?
