Wow, the biggest name yet to not run:
Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) announced Thursday that he will not run for president in 2020, just after completing a tour of early caucus and primary states.
We still have 13 announced candidates, but now in single digits – only 9 still to hear from.
Definitely running:
- Rep. John Delaney
- Sec. Julian Castro
- Gov. Jay Inslee
- Sen. Elizabeth Warren
- Rep. Tulsi Gabbard
- Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand
- Mayor Pete Buttigieg
- Sen. Kamala Harris
- Sen. Cory Booker
- Sen. Any Klobuchar
- Andrew Yang
- Sen. Bernie Sanders
- Gov. John Hickenlooper
Potential candidates who have shown some interest:
- Sen. Michael Bennet
- VP Joe Biden
- Gov. Steve Bullock
- Mayor Bill De Blasio
- Gov. Terry McAuliffe
- Rep. Seth Moulton
- Rep. Beto O’Rourke
- Rep. Tim Ryan
- Rep. Eric Swalwell
Not running:
- Andrew Cuomo
- Hillary Clinton
- Tim Kaine
- Michael Avenatti
- John Kerry
- Chris Murphy
- Oprah Winfrey
- Jason Kander
- Martin O’Malley
- Tom Steyer
- Mark Cuban
- Sen. Bob Casey
- State Sen. Richard Ojeda
- Mayor Eric Garcetti
- Howard Schultz
- Mayor Mitch Landrieu
- Rep. Joe Kennedy
- Sen. Mark Warner
- Attny Gen Eric Holder
- Mayor Michael Bloomberg
- Sen. Jeff Merkley
- Sen. Sherrod Brown
A little shocked. There are several “same state pairs” in the list of possible candidates. My thought was that it is unlikely (with the possible exception of New York and California) that you would see two candidates from the same state. So as Brown is not running, does that make it more likely that Ryan might run?
