So, the polling round-up for the second half of September 2015 is now completed and the books have been closed on this two-week window, mostly concerning 2016. Here the links to my politics blog for the next two weeks of polling from 01-15.10.2015:

Lee Wack Jr named as #DNC2016 Press Secretary
The Democratic National Convention Committee today named Lee Whack as Press Secretary for the 2016 Democratic National Convention. Lee joins the Convention team from the U.S. House of Representatives where he served as Communications Director for Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL).
“We are very pleased that Lee is joining the Convention team,” said Convention CEO Leah D. Daughtry. “I am confident his background and experience will help us achieve our goal of being the most engaging, inclusive and forward-looking convention in history.”
Prior to his work for Rep. Schakowsky, Lee was public relations manager for the DC Housing Finance Agency. Before that, he was a communications staffer for several Democrats in the Illinois State Senate. He also managed press for the National Public Housing Museum and the 2010 Illinois State Treasurer’s race. Previously, he was a local news reporter for the Chicago Tribune. Born in Pittsburgh and raised in the Chicago area, he is a graduate of Morehouse College with a Master’s in Journalism from Northwestern University.

Clinton claims huge superdelegate haul
Guess there’s no reason to track them this cycle:
At the Democratic National Committee meeting in Minneapolis, where Clinton spoke on Friday, senior Clinton campaign officials are claiming that she has already secured one-fifth of the pledges needed to win the Democratic presidential nomination. They come from current and former elected officials, committee officeholders, and other party dignitaries.
The campaign says that Clinton currently has about 130 superdelegates publicly backing her, but a person familiar with recent conversations in Minneapolis said that officials are telling supporters and the undecided in the last few days that private commitments increase that number to more than 440—about 20 percent of the number of delegates she would need to secure the nomination.
Final numbers are still in flux, but current estimates peg the total number of delegates to next summer’s presidential nominating convention at about 4,491, meaning that a candidate would need 2,246 to win. The Clinton camp’s claim to more than 440 delegates means she’s already wrapped up the support of more than 60 percent of the approximately 713 superdelegates who, under party rules, are among those who cast votes for the nomination, along with delegates selected by rank-and-file voters in primaries and caucuses beginning next February.
…
To be sure, Clinton had a superdelegate edge early against Barack Obama in 2008, and superdelegates are free to change their allegiance at any time between now and next summer’s convention. But Clinton is ahead of the pace she had eight years ago in securing these commitments, and her support from the core of the establishment represented by these superdelegates is arguably the most tangible evidence of the difficulty Biden would have overtaking her with a late-starting campaign.
This is not 2008. But it’s not about being ahead of the pace. It’s about the fact that Biden has 2 supers (both from DE), O’Malley 1, and Sanders has 0. Clinton continues to have the nomination locked up.

“IN and OUT” – in double format
With the official entry of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) into the presidential race on March 23rd of this year, more than four months ago, I decided to log every official entry into the race with a great deal of accompanying data:
- The candidate’s complete name and current political or professional title.
- The date, time (when possible), location and method of announcement.
- A calculation of the number of days before the GE 2016 that the announcement was made.
- Links to press coverage of the announcement, including an occasional yet very telling screenshot.
- Sometimes, a screenshot of his/her campaign logo or a video of the announcement as well.
- The candidate’s WIKI and also his/her campaign website.
- Best wishes to each and every candidate with the same sentence.
I have logged all of this data in one blog posting HERE for all to access freely. But it’s a lot to sift through, so I also made a very handy-dandy table of the most important data, which you can see HERE. If you go to the link, you will see that the table will be expanded to include the date of a campaign exit (the candidates usually call it “suspending” their campaign, be we all know it means that they quit the race) and the exact number of days that that campaign was officially in action.
Here is a screenshot of that table for DCW as well:

Reverend Leah Daughtry reportedly named as CEO of the DNCC for #DNC2016
Democratic National Committee Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz on Thursday said that the Rev. Leah D. Daughtry will serve as chief executive officer of the Democratic National Convention Committee in 2016.
Daughtry, 52, who splits time between Washington, D.C., and Brooklyn, New York, served in the position in 2008 in Denver, Colorado, when Barack Obama was elected the first Black president of the United States.
“We are thrilled to have Leah Daughtry return to lead our convention team. She will bring so much expertise and enthusiasm to this important event,” Wasserman Schultz said in a prepared statement. – NewsOne
